About

Welcome to Karwaan Camps

Where Luxury Meets the Wilderness

Karwaan Camps & Hospitality was born from the vision of Shravan Singh Ranavat, a native of Kumbhalgarh, Rajasthan, who set out to redefine the way India experiences camping. Inspired during his stay at the Pushkar Camel Fair more than sixteen years ago, Shravan discovered the immense potential of transforming traditional camping into an elevated, luxurious escape — Glamping.

With this vision, Karwaan Camps began its journey of designing upscale tents that blend the raw beauty of nature with the comforts of modern hospitality. Each tent reflects a perfect balance of heritage, culture, and elegance, offering guests not just accommodation but an immersive experience under the stars.

Over the years, Karwaan has become synonymous with luxury tented stays at some of India’s most iconic destinations and events. From the vibrant Pushkar and Nagaur Camel Fairs, to the grand Kumbh Mela in Haridwar and Allahabad, the magical Rann Festival in Gujarat, and countless cultural, social, and corporate gatherings, Karwaan has created memories for travelers across the country.

Today, Karwaan Camps continues to grow with a simple promise — to bring people closer to nature without compromising on comfort, and to craft experiences where every sunset, every bonfire, and every morning in the wilderness becomes unforgettable.

About Founder

About Founder

Shravan Singh Ranawat began his journey in the hospitality industry in 2004, working with a royal family in Jodhpur where he gained first-hand experience in luxury guest services and traditional Rajasthani hospitality. Building on this foundation, he went on to serve as General Manager at the prestigious Osian Camel Camp from 2005 to 2008. During his tenure, he oversaw operations, guest relations, and event management, establishing the camp as a recognized name in desert tourism and cultural experiences.

In 2008, Shravan Singh transitioned into entrepreneurship, driven by a vision to blend tourism with community empowerment. He worked extensively with local communities—particularly the Sephardi community—to organize cultural festivals, traditional performances, and heritage-based events that celebrated the rich history of Rajasthan. His initiatives were designed not only to attract visitors but also to ensure that local traditions and values were preserved for future generations.

A strong advocate of sustainable and eco-friendly tourism, Shravan Singh has actively promoted green practices in hospitality and event management, creating a model that balances growth with environmental responsibility. His work has generated significant employment opportunities for rural youth, artisans, and performers, while also fostering cultural pride and social inclusion within the communities he supports.

Today, Shravan Singh continues to lead with a vision rooted in heritage preservation, eco-tourism, and community-driven development. His ongoing efforts exemplify how tourism can serve as a bridge between tradition and modernity—creating economic value while safeguarding cultural identity and promoting sustainable regional development.
